Paprika, also called red pepper is a spice produced from red sweet peppers ground into powder. It is much appreciated for its fragrance and for its red color power.

How to Use Paprika

In Indian recipies, it is the chili powder which is used (Laal Mirch in Hindi). Paprika powder is interesting to replace it because it is less strong. It can therefore be used in most Indian dishes, like Dal (Indian lentils), curries, sauces or to color and flavor the rice.

Why use Paprika

It is weaker than red pepper. Capsicum usually used to prepare the paprika powder is particularly rich in vitamin C.
