The Thali, accompanied by Katori, is an Indian dish service as well as a full meal, very typical in India. The Thali is a tray used to serve breads, rice, Indian salad, pickles and Katori, small bowls placed on the Thali, to serve curries, vegetables, Daal, etc..
Thalis are a kind of Indian plates rather large, usually round, in stainless steel, but depending on circumstances they may also be of silver. In rural India, in the state of Rajasthan for example, Katori and Thali that are made of sheets are also used.
Katoris are small ramekins used in Indian cuisine to serve recipes more liquid such as Daal, Curries, sauces and also Raita or desserts. These small bowls are put on the Thali, the round tray, to finish the meal composition. In India, we can also find stainless steel trays with compartments that replace both Katori and Thali.
