The origins of masala chai (which literally translates to "spiced tea") date back over 5,000 years. Indian tradition says it was created and enjoyed by the emperors of what is now India as a purifying and invigorating Ayurvedic drink.

Over time, spice compositions have evolved differently from region to region, but the traditional blend of ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, cloves and black pepper is still highly regarded.

For the perfect cup of tea, add the bag to 180ml of hot water, stir for 10 seconds and enjoy!
